On Sunday, September 11, 2016 Team InTandem will once again take on the Gran Fondo New Jersey.

This is our major ride and fundraiser of the year and it’s a really nice day.  The ride is in the countryside around Morristown.  The town shuts down and they throw an all-day party around the historic Morristown Green, with a post ride bar-b-cue for all riders.  We will have a prominent booth in the Finish Line Expo.  Lynette and Maria have been asked back to sing the national anthem again to start the 2500 riders.

Our team will be riding their choice of 18, 42, 62, 75 and 107 miles, and it is all thanks to the continuing support of people like you!

You may not be able to ride with us on Sept. 11, but you can help by supporting our ride with a donation.  Your contribution will help InTandem continue to provide free tandem cycling programs and opportunities to our members throughout the year.
  • $50 will pay one entry fee for an organized riding event.
  • $100. will pay for new tires on one tandem bike.
  • $500 will help support a tandem team’s season of riding.
  • $2,000 will buy a new Cannondale tandem and provide the joy of riding to many other InTandem cyclists. This tandem bike can have a plaque with your name on it.

Please make your donation by visiting our Crowdrise Page.

**Update* Still in need of more captains.**

We need experienced InTandem captains to ride in Central Park for a few hours at 12 noon on Sunday, September 18th. We will again partner with the JCC Manhattan Adaptations program – see below for details on this program – to provide tandem riding outings for their members. The initial program in June was so popular, we are doing it again.

Meet some wonderful new people. A lite picnic will be served following the ride. InTandem stokers are welcome to come as well and assist. And I’ll bet you could sweet talk our wonderful captains into a few Park loops as well.

Adaptations is a community of adults in their 20s and 30s with developmental and/or learning disabilities and a high level of independence. We are a place for individuals of all backgrounds to socialize, learn, grow, and deepen their connections to one another and the community. Through our programs and partnerships, Adaptations provides multiple pathways to fostering independence, expressing creativity, and experiencing the richness of community.

Coney Island Cyclone and Hot Dog Ride

Central Park, West Side bike path, Manhattan Bridge, Downtown Brooklyn, Shore Parkway bike path – this sounds like a really good ride.  Where were they going?  Why, for a spin on the world’s most famous roller coaster, The Coney Island Cyclone, and some hot dogs at Nathan’s Famous.

Captain Chris Patoir and solo rider Denise Patoir conceived and led this ride.  They believe a good ride should always end in some good food.  And who are we to question that theory.

40 miles roundtrip, the return trip took them along the oldest bike path in the United States, Ocean Parkway,  over the Brooklyn Bridge and back to Central Park.

Have an idea for a cool and fun tandem romp and chomp?  Send it along.
