**Update* Still in need of more captains.**
We need experienced InTandem captains to ride in Central Park for a few hours at 12 noon on Sunday, September 18th. We will again partner with the JCC Manhattan Adaptations program – see below for details on this program – to provide tandem riding outings for their members. The initial program in June was so popular, we are doing it again.
Meet some wonderful new people. A lite picnic will be served following the ride. InTandem stokers are welcome to come as well and assist. And I’ll bet you could sweet talk our wonderful captains into a few Park loops as well.
Adaptations is a community of adults in their 20s and 30s with developmental and/or learning disabilities and a high level of independence. We are a place for individuals of all backgrounds to socialize, learn, grow, and deepen their connections to one another and the community. Through our programs and partnerships, Adaptations provides multiple pathways to fostering independence, expressing creativity, and experiencing the richness of community.
Captains only – RSVP for Ride with the JCC “Adaptations” Program
This past Sunday, we had a lovely ride and picnic with a delightful group of volunteer captains from Taiwanese American Professionals. Following Jonathon’s captain training, they rode up and met our stokers and did some mileage together around Central Park.
Much thanks to all the captains and to Julie Shen for doing the organizing. We look forward to riding with them again soon.
TAP is a nonprofit dedicated to providing opportunities for social enrichment, community involvement, and personal and professional growth for their members.
This past Monday dawned a lovely morning for a tandem ride in Central Park. So who do we find at our trailer – a great group of Morgan Stanley staffers ready to hit the drives as captains with our InTandem stokers.
They paired up and did some serious loops of the Park. Then a picnic lunch under the magnificent elm trees in the East Meadow.
Thanks to Joe Wengler from Morgan Stanley for organizing this now annual event. Thanks to InTandem co-founder Susan Elefant, as always, for helping out with everything.
