October Rides and Events!

Saturday October 15- Heiskell Library’s Accessible Community, Culture, and Technology Fair

***We need a few more ambassadors.***

The Heiskell Library has again invited us to table at their annual accessible Community, Culture, and Technology fair. The past two fairs have brought in over 200 attendees each year to learn about the city’s accessible offerings for community members who are blind, visually impaired, or physically disabled. We are in need of a few ambassadors to represent InTandem at this event. Please e-mail us at info@intandembike.org if you are available. We also encourage everyone to drop by and participate in the Hands-On: Exploration and Creation themed activities.

Saturday October 22- Daffodil Ride

Our first gardening ride.  This ride is being managed by InTandem stokers Jay Kronfeld and Shelley Wine.  We will leave from Central Park and ride down to Corlears Hook Park in the Lower East Side where the Friends of Corlears Hook Park have given us three areas within the park to plant dafodils.  A few hours of gardening work will prepare the appetite for a lunch with new Friends and fuel our return ride to Central Park.

RSVP from the calendar below.

Sunday October 23- Tour de Bronx

It’s back! The Tour de Bronx is on Sunday October 23rd. Choose one of two rides. The 25-mile route takes riders through the south, east and mid portion of the borough including the Mott Haven district, Clason Point along the East River, and the largest park in New York City: Pelham Bay Park boasting nearly 3,000 acres of natural forest, OR The 40-mile route, which includes a visit to the historic Fort Schuyler on the Throgs Neck peninsula, the nautical community of City Island and the northern portions of the borough like Woodlawn and Riverdale. Both rides conclude at the iconic New York Botanical Garden where riders receive a complimentary souvenir T-shirt and enjoy a live musical performance as they relax from the day’s festivities.
