Come ride a tandem bike with the help of our wonderful captains! We’ll set you up with a partner, adjust the bike the way you like it, and before you know it you’ll be zooming around the Central Park loop. Or maybe not zooming – fast or slow, it’s up to you!

About The Event

InTandem creates accessible cycling opportunities for people with disabilities. We support people who are blind, have low vision, or cannot ride a single bike due to some other disability-related reason. Safety is one of our first priorities. Before riding with us, you must complete a stoker orientation and training session conducted by an InTandem staff member. We will teach you tandem riding techniques and communication and basic bike safety.

Stokers meet at Engineer’s Gate at 90th Street and 5th Avenue in Central Park. When you walk in the entrance, you will find the InTandem crew just to the right. There are benches there where you may rest and socialize between rides. We have a 90th Street Manager at every one of our rides. This person is there to watch people’s belongings and guide dogs while they ride, take attendance, and keep track of the cue of stokers. The 90th Street Manager makes sure every person rides equally and paired with an appropriate captain. Please be sure to give your mileage for the day to the 90th Street Manager before you leave. We use those metrics for to keep track of your personal accomplishments and for fundraising purposes.
